Butte County Busted Mugshots is a private reference service, not a government office. It cannot confirm someone’s custody or release, release a person, post bond, or pull an official booking record. Contact the responsible government office directly for an authoritative answer.

Where Butte County Records Are Held

For a Butte County booking record or booking photograph, start with the sheriff because no separately named records unit or public booking-photo portal was published in the county material reviewed. Ask which employee or office is the designated custodian, then use the county’s written public-records process when a formal request is needed.

County Public-Records Request

Butte County
205 W. Grand Ave.
P.O. Box 737
Arco, ID 83213

County administration phone: 208-527-3021 ext. 1
Office hours: Monday through Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.; Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

The Butte County Public Records Request form asks for contact details, a clear description, whether the request is for inspection or copies, and a signature and date. It cites Idaho Code section 74-102. The form does not publish a booking-photo fee or photo-specific turnaround, so ask the custodian for an estimate and response expectations.

For an emergency, call 911. The sheriff’s published number is the practical nonemergency starting point for custody or jail-record routing. The courthouse and sheriff have different roles: the sheriff or jail handles booking and custody material, while the court clerk handles filed case records and dispositions.

Choose the Right Lookup Office

The correct destination depends on the record’s custody state. A person just arrested, a person currently held, a sentenced state prisoner, and a federal or immigration detainee will not appear in the same system.

  • Booking record or photograph: call the Butte County Sheriff’s Office and use the county request form. Idaho Code section 20-601 requires a county-jail booking photograph to be taken, but Butte County has not verified an online photo roster.
  • Current custody or release notification: use Idaho VINE’s person search or the Idaho Sheriffs’ Association VINE information. VINE is a custody and notification service, not a booking-photo gallery, and it does not cover every arrest.
  • Court case and disposition: search the Idaho iCourt portal. A disposition is the court’s later result, which may differ from the accusation entered at booking.
  • State custody, probation, or parole: use the Idaho Department of Correction Resident/Client Search. It is not a substitute for a Butte County Jail booking request, and the reviewed public search showed text fields rather than a public photo field.
  • Federal custody: check the Federal Bureau of Prisons inmate locator. It covers federal custody and does not promise a public mugshot.
  • Immigration custody: use the ICE Online Detainee Locator for a person in qualifying ICE or CBP custody. It is not a Butte County jail search.
  • Arco, Moore, or Butte City incidents: begin with the county sheriff and jail route. No separate municipal arrest log or booking feed was verified for those three city pages.

News reports and social posts can point to an event, but they are selective and may not show the complete booking fields, current release state, or final court result. Confirm the underlying record with the appropriate custodian.
